The colour is impressively deep, almost black tinged with violet; open on the nose with concentrated aromas of violets, blackberries and black cherries, all nicely meshed with savoury flavours, coffee and dark chocolate. A powerful and supple wine with assertive, youthful tannins and superb length.
Opaque purple in colour. An aroma of dark woodland berry fruits with ripe plum, elderflower syrup and liquorice provide an indication of the complexity this wine will attain with maturity. On the palate it is muscular, velvety and concentrated with assertive but ripe tannins.
Unique of its kind, with a strong and particular character. Alongside raspberry and liquorice we find cherry, dark chocolate and plum. A year of ageing in barriques makes the tannins rounder and this racy wine more accessible.
