Cabernet - Merlot Sanct Valentin Magnum - 2020 - Winery S. Michele Appiano

The fact that we have what it takes to produce truly great red wines have been proven by our winemaker in the form of this vintage Cabernet, which is part of the St. Valentin range. Delicately matured in small oak casks, this Cabernet comes in a mature ruby colour. Its dense, aromatic diversity is characterised by fruity aromas, ripe wild berries, vanilla and liquorice. Smooth, velvety tannins, delicate scents of cocoa and stewed fruits combined with a characteristic structure and density delight the palate and promise a variety of surprises and a pleasant taste. Proper ageing in the bottle allows this still young wine to intensify its pronounced complexity even further. The Cabernet St. Valentin is an excellent accompaniment to strong red meat dishes the barbeque, to game and lamb and to piquant varieties of cheese.

Chardonnay South Tyrol - 2022 - wine cellar St. Michael Appiano

With a brilliant greenish-yellow colour, this wine has an aroma immediately reminiscent of ripe apples. Add to this a broad and mixed palette of fruit aromas, including melon and banana. In the mouth, this Chardonnay is juicy and delicious, with an inviting and lasting constancy. Comtess Sanct Valentin - 2020 - Winery S. Michele Appiano

The St. Valentin Comtess' is an especially rare speciality of the winery. A dessert wine of irresistible type, complexity and finesse. After a late harvest (mid-November) Gewürztraminer grapes are mixed with those of Riesling, Sauvignon and dried in wooden crates for several weeks, then they are pressed and transferred to a steel casket for maturation. Comtess' is characterised by a multiface - ted bouquet with aromas reminiscent of roses, cinamon and nutmeg. The young, fresh fragrances intensify in their complexity when correctly matured in the bottle, gradually assuming discrete hints of honey. An elegantly tasteful dessert wine with a full-bodied, fresh acidity which pairs harmoniously with the matching residual sweetness. It unleashes on the palate a delicate symphony of impressions and experiences, which leave behind a lasting effect. A wine with a future, which can be left to mature at the winery for several years without further ado.

Gewürztraminer - 2022 - Winery S. Michele Appiano South Tyrol

A very special wine. Once tasted, never forgotten - so ple - asing is its aromatic richness and strength. Fine spices, cloves and the gentle fragrance of roses characterise and emphasise the traits and the overall elegance of this im - pressive wine. It is here, on the hills between Appiano and Termeno, that the Gewürztraminer grape originated. The wine is an ideal accompaniment to fish dishes, especially crustaceans, lobster and crab, or to foie gras and other pâtès. Yet it is also a fine wine for enjoying on its own.

Gewürztraminer Sanct Valentin - 2020 - Winery S. Michele Appiano

It goes without saying that Gewürztraminer is the most typical of South Tyrolean white wines. It is here that the wine originated, getting its name the lower vallery wine village of Termeno. This wine is characterised by an intense yellow colour and the unmistakable aroma of roses and mixed spices just like pepper, nutmeg and cloves. It is equally as convincing on the palate where it lingers, leaving behind intense, unforgettable impressions. This white wine is extremely well suited to be served as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to strong-flavored, spicy dishes made fish, lobst and liver pâté. Served chilled, it can be drunk young, yet also ages well.

Lago di Caldaro scelto Sattel - 2022 - cellar St. Michael Appiano

Ruby red in colour with purple reflections, this wine the Lake Caldaro region has delicate aromas reminiscent of violets and a hint of bitter almonds. With its fruity and balanced taste, it is an ideal accompaniment to appetisers, country-style snacks and hearty home cooking, yet also to the classic pizza or meat and poultry dishes. This Lagrein is characterised by a lively ruby red colour and a variety of aromas reminiscent of ripe red fruits. A full, pleasantly warm and intense wine with a velvety softness. A red wine of distinction, unique in its way, and only to be found in South Tyrol. It goes exceedingly well with meat, roasts and spicy cheeses, but it is also a wine to savour and for meditation, above all when it is drunk following several years of ageing and maturation in the bottle.

Pinot Grigio - 2022 - Winery S. Michele Alto Adige Appiano

Light green lustre run through the straw colour of this wine whose aroma is rich in fruits, the most striking of which are pears. An excellent acidity balance gives this wine strength and structure. It is dry and smooth on the palate, and leaves a long, pleasant aftertaste. The Pinot Grigio goes well with many dishes, especially lighter foods, to which it is an excellent accompaniment.
