Cabernet Sauvignon struggles to ripen in South Tyrol, though not in the sun drenched slopes of Colterenzio, where the unique, unmistakable character of our "Katèlt" unfolds to the full.
Deion: Impressive depth of colour; sweet currant and plum fruit with cassis, herbs, earth and liquorice aromas nicely intermingled in this elegant, full-textured wine; subtle but savoury on the palate, supple with ripe, sweet tannins.
Food Choices: Roast beef with trimmings, lamb steaks glazed with balsamic vinegar and redcurrants, venison and game, mature cheeses. A wine for discerning oenophiles. Serve cool, 18°C.
Grape Variety: 100 % Cabernet Sauvignon vertical espalier-trained plantings with approx. 5,000 vines per hectare.
Sites: Girlan/Schreckbichl. Medium-rich morainal and gravelly soils.
Yield: 45 hl/ha
Winemaking: Fermentation with the skins in stainless steel tanks with the temperature controlled at 28-30°C. The skins are constantly pushed down gently into the embryonic wine to extract a maximum of colour, flavour and ripe tannins. The wine is subsequently matured in oak for 18 months, 1/3 of the total in 35 hl casks, 2/3 in French barriques. The wine is subsequently gently fined, bottled and matured for a further 12 months before release.

Brilliant yellow with green reflections, this wine shows an impressively broad and distinctive bouquet of nettles, elderberries, green peppers, sage and mint. A mineraly, elegant wine, it is nicely salty on the tongue with a juicy finish.
'Lafot' Cabernet is a versatile and complex wine, the vines which grow in Magrè. The temperature is mild, the hills sunny. The 12 months ageing in durmast barrels gives to Lafot strength and complexity. The taste is blackberries-like, as well as eucalyptus and pepper.
Color: deep ruby to garnet red with a delicate shimmer of violet. Smell: The aroma reveals earthy, minerally notes masterfully underpinned with fruit components, with morello cherry and plum jam dominating. Taste: These peaty, spicy and yet velvety fruit notes also intrigue the palate, where this Lagrein Riserva presents itself with multilayered opulence and great complexity.
The Meczan Pinot Noir is distinguished by its unmistakable varietal character, its distinctive aroma and fruity character, by its bright ruby colour with garnet reflexes, and its fresh, stimulating bouquet with seductive hints of woodland berries and cherry. On the palate Meczan is harmonious, sappy and mellow with impressive fruit.
With typical Tyrolean platters of cold-cuts (speck) and cheese; the perfect partner for pasta and pizza, white meat dishes, also with fish and is an ideal party wine.
