Weinegg is on the very top of our range. It is named after the castle of Weineck, which was situated on the Virgl Mountain above Bolzano until the beginning of the 12th century. Weinegg is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Lagrein, whereby only grapes the best vines with an age minimum of 15 years are chosen.
The harvest usually takes place at the end of October: It is exactly in these those days, that the Cabernet reaches is its full ripeness, Lagrein and Merlot are somewhat overripe and have slightly dried berries. Thanks to this, the wine has a special glaze and a particularly delicate bunch of flavours.
The elevation takes place in small and medium oak barrels (2-5hl), 50-80% of which are new. Weinegg is only produced in exceptional years: 2022, 2006 and 2007, to mention the last three vintages.

This Pinot Nero Riserva is only produced when the conditions permit the creation of a truly outstanding wine that shows off the Alto Adige region in its very best. This redwine resulted in very intense, concentrated Pinots with powerful ruby red colour, fine Burgundy bouquet with red berry flavours accompanied by vanilla notes. A deep mouth filling wine with clear tannins that has all the hallmarks that we look for in a Riserva.

The Roman settler and winegrower Cornelius settled in the Colterenzio area around 15 BC, and founded his Cornelianum wine estate, form which the name Cornaiano developed. He laid the foundations for our present-day wine culture. Cornelius is an elegant Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
