Viticultural Practices: this wine is made certified organic grapes vineyards that are farmed according to biodynamic methods of viticulture (Demeter certification).
Grape varieties: Lagrein and Merlot.
Deion: purple colour with garnet hints. Quite pronounced fruity aroma with notes of red and black berries, paired with floral, mineral and spicy nuances (black pepper). Medium to full-bodied, good intensity on the palate, balanced, with present ripe tannin. Good length.
Suggested foods: red meat such as beef and lamb, venison, game all types of cheeses.
Origin: selected vineyard parcels located on the scree of Magrè at an altitude of 230 to 320 meters (750 - 1,050 feet). Dry, sandy, gravely soil with a high limestone content. Other sites have a medium heavy soil structure. Warm mesoclimate with big variations between day and night temperatures.
Age of vines: 7 - 50 years.
Vinification: fermentation and extended maceration for 14 days in stainless steel tanks. Half of the wine has been matured for 18 months in small French oak barrels. The other half has been matured in large casks of Slawonian oak.
