yr. 2012 Falstaff:

96 of 100 Points.

"Falstaff" has rated the wine "Dal Forno Romano Vigneto Monte Lodoletta" from the vintage 2012 on 01.10.2018 with 96 of 100 points.

"Undurchdringliches Rubin mit Tendenz zum Schwarz, violetter Rand. In der Nase nach Graphit, Weihrauch, nur leicht nach Brombeeren und Cassis, wirkt etwas verschlossen. Am Gaumen unglaublich dicht, konzentriert, vielschichtig, gleichzeitig zupackend und straff, enorm feinmaschiges Tannin, hat sehr viel dunkle Beerenfrucht, hallt sehr lange nach, endet im Abgang wuchtig und imposant. Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler"

yr. 2010 Doctorwine:

96 of 100 Points.

"Doctorwine" has rated the wine "Dal Forno Romano Vigneto Monte Lodoletta" from the vintage 2010 on 01.03.2016 with 96 of 100 points.

"The blend is 60% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and the rest Croatina and Oseleta and the wine from raisinated grapes aged in barriques. It has a dense, dark-ruby color and a bouquet full of ample fruity, balsamic and smoky sensations and notes of bramble berry, walnut, rosemary and pepper. The mouthfeel is full, structured and wrapping with a long and tasty finish."

yr. 2010 Falstaff:

96 of 100 Points.

"Falstaff" has rated the wine "Dal Forno Romano Vigneto Monte Lodoletta" from the vintage 2010 on 01.10.2015 with 96 of 100 points.

yr. 1995 Doctorwine:

97 of 100 Points.

"Doctorwine" has rated the wine "Dal Forno Romano Vigneto Monte Lodoletta" from the vintage 1995 on 01.04.2014 with 97 of 100 points.

"This is one of the loveliest and most convincing Amarone from Dal Forno. It was an historic year for the producer because with this vintage he began to follow a very personal style which with time has never been matched and has made him a legend among legends. The color is distinct, fully intact, with hues that have remained unchanged even after almost 20 years in the bottle. The aroma is complex and distinguished above all by balsamic and chocolate notes, with its spices a much-appreciated condiment. The wine remains embarrassingly concentrated with a mouthfeel that stimulates all the senses and taste buds and has an eternal persistence. Everyone who drank this was almost shocked by how exceptional it was."

yr. 2000 Doctorwine:

96 of 100 Points.

"Doctorwine" has rated the wine "Dal Forno Romano Vigneto Monte Lodoletta" from the vintage 2000 on 01.04.2014 with 96 of 100 points.

"This vintage is extraordinary for how bold it is, even more so than the previous one if that is possible. The color is pitch black, impenetrable to the naked eye. The aroma is an explosion of shredded tobacco, Noberasco prune and an incredible spice component that runs from pepper corn to juniper berry, rhubarb to dark chocolate. All this and more. The mouthfeel is outstanding for its ability to wrap, it is almost like a Porto Quinta do Noval Nacional. The alcohol is evident but tamed by an off-the-scale texture. This is a wine for virile, uncompromising palates that seek absolute puissance."

yr. 1998 Doctorwine:

95 of 100 Points.

"Doctorwine" has rated the wine "Dal Forno Romano Vigneto Monte Lodoletta" from the vintage 1998 on 01.04.2014 with 95 of 100 points.

"This wine has a surprising balance considering its amazing robustness. It is less concentrated than the others but no less stimulating for the senses. The color is again a very intense red but a little less chromatically exasperating. In the aroma there is some bitter bark on a peppermint background along with scents of black pepper and blond tobacco. The leitmotiv here is dark chocolate with various percentages of pure cacao. The mouthfeel is, as always awesome, with enormous volume, rotund and at the same time balanced by very fine tannins. Here again the wine ability to saturate is outstanding."

yr. 2002 Doctorwine:

93 of 100 Points.

"Doctorwine" has rated the wine "Dal Forno Romano Vigneto Monte Lodoletta" from the vintage 2002 on 01.04.2014 with 93 of 100 points.

"Despite the year being one that will not be remembered for it quality, this wine?s concentration, the producer?s trademark, is amazing. Its red color is unusually intense and light has difficulty penetrating it. The aroma is explosive and even a bit stupefying with its component of overripe marasca cherry under spirits, a prune full of texture and an unbridled balsamic aspect. Breathing brings this all out even further with embarrassing intensity. The mouthfeel is saturating, upheld by ferocious tannins and an unmatched fullness. The style is truly unique, after tasting his wines it is difficult to do justice to others."

yr. 2006 Doctorwine:

94 of 100 Points.

"Doctorwine" has rated the wine "Dal Forno Romano Vigneto Monte Lodoletta" from the vintage 2006 on 01.09.2012 with 94 of 100 points.

"They may not grow in the classic district, Val d'Illasi is in fact outside it, but Romano Dal Forno's vineyards of Corvina, Rondinella, Croatina and Oseleta grapes are among the best in Valpolicella. His Amarone is a legend and this vintage 2006 is truly convincing. A very dark and dense ruby color, typical scents of raisined Corvina grapes, then vanilla and sweet spices, on a background of tobacco and cacao. The flavor is explosive, intense, profound. It is still a very young wine and will improve with decades of age."
