Grüner Veltliner (Green Veltliner) has been cultivated since roman times. It prospers in meager, as well as in mineral-rich soils, but it requires a sunny autumn to complete its ripening and to reach its full flavor potential.
In South Tyrol, in the Valle Isarco some winemakers have specialized in the production of Grüner Veltliner. They produce wines with fruity zest with notes of pepper, which smell like wildflowers and meadow herbs. This complex mixture of flavors and scents makes for a really special, interesting distillate Zu Plun. The pomace for this variety of grappa also comes Köferer Hof.
